James E. Pepper 1776 100 proof Rye
Gold Medal – 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
Col. James E. Pepper became a larger than life figure in late 1800’s. He was known to hang with John D. Rockefeller, Theodore Roosevelt, Fred Pabst, and many of the other captains of industry at the time. He is even credited with being the inspiration for the original Old-Fashioned cocktail! With over 90% Rye in the Mash, this whisky is incredibly complex. Huge expressions of mint, cloves, eucalyptus, chocolate, and honey present to the nose. On the palate expect much the same with the addition of barrel-driven flavors of vanilla and toast. We predict that this will become your new go-to Rye. Try this, a prohibition style Old-fashioned with one of the richest flavored Rye Whiskies around.
