I grew up in Bakersfield, and am proud to be an “08er." I have been in the Wine and Spirits business since 1984. In 1989, I took over managing Red Carpet Wine in Glendale, California. On my watch, Red Carpet became a leader in both the wine and spirits industry. In 2009, I opened Imbibe Wine and have watched it become a leader in Central California. I would not trade this store for any other wine store in the nation and it just so happens to be in my hometown of Bakersfield, Ca. I enjoy travel, especially to Napa, doing mission work with my wife Amara, riding motorcycles and spending time with good friends. At the end of the day, it's all about the memories and experiences. Here’s to good friends, food, wine, and most importantly, good health.
I joined the Imbibe team in the summer of 2013. Previous to joining Imbibe I managed and operated wine programs for top retail outfits in Southern California. A past working relationship and great opportunity to join forces with David Dobbs was really a no brainer to leave LA for beautiful Bakersfield. I am obviously passionate about wine and very grateful for the people, history, food, culture, geography and travel that wine has paired with me. When I’m not at Imbibe I’m performing the balancing act of family, sports, pets, and travel. It’s hard to keep me away from water, nature, and things that go boom. I’m a proud and active member of West Bakersfield Rotary and our local American Legion.
Imbibe Wine office manager, Lydia Nicholson, comes to Imbibe with more than 30 years of management in the health care industry. After many years of enjoying wine and cooking, Lydia truly appreciates being part of the Imbibe Team. Family, travel and Pilates occupies most of her time away from Imbibe.
Halli began as a cashier and has now become our data entry and social media manager. Though often behind her computer, she is very knowledgable about our products and is always happy to help with any questions you may have. She loves craft beer, but is very eager and excited to learn about the wonderful world of wine.
In my career in “Hospitality” over the past forty years I have been involved with restaurants, hotels, private clubs, and, for the past 6 years retail here at Imbibe. As the Senior team member, I have the current responsibility for the “Craft Beer” department at Imbibe. It’s no secret that the craft beer market is on “fire" and has been the fastest-growing segment of the alcohol industry. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit our store please know that we have over 500 hundred different beers to choose from as well as a very esoteric tap line up. Come on in and check out the selection.
Kim has been with Imbibe a little over one year and is an expert at what she does. From pairing the perfect cheese with the perfect wine to helping our customers with a friendly smile, Kim is an incredibly knowledgeable chef and a great asset to our team.
Kevin is a craft beer enthusiast who joined our team in January 2015. Since then, he has shown excellent customer service abilities and continued to improve his competency in beer, wine, and spirits. Kevin is an Army veteran and a current student at Taft College.
Phillip joined the Imbibe Team in May of 2015. He is one of our Craft Beer Specialists and is always willing to help people diversify their taste in beers. Phillip has been a Craft Beer Enthusiast for a number of years as well as a Craft Beer Manager for a friend's pub. Some of his favorite styles include Stouts, Porters, Barleywines, IPAs and many more. He himself is always trying new and interesting beers from all over the globe. We are glad to have Phillip as part of our Team here at Imbibe.
Beau Woessner was born and has lived in Bakersfield his whole life. He enjoys watching and playing soccer. Beau loves working for Imbibe because of the great staff and amazing customers that support our local business.
Dean Medeiros grew up on one of his families vineyards in New England where he was mentored by his native Azorean uncle about wine and winemaking. What started as a hobby became a profession in 1995, carrying through passing his first Sommelier exam at Cesar's Palace in 1997, then the challenging Court of Master Sommelier's Advanced tasting and theory exams in 2003 in New York. Over his 22 year career Dean has lectured at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival for 11 years, presented at the Conference of Certified Wine Educators, and worked on all sides of the business: from producer,importer, broker, wholesaler.
