Wine Highlights!

Hello to all who Imbibe!

Australia has a rich and extensive love affair with creating world class wines. Of the many houses Australia has to offer, d’Arenberg remains one of the premier giants of wine crafting. Founded in 1912 in a fertile area outside Adelaide, the Osborn family have evolved their project to produce innovative and sustainable wines. Imbibe now has the pleasure to share with you three magnificent facings from d’Arenberg that we are sure you will enjoy.

2016 d’Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz: $49.91
Shiraz is what put Australian wine on the map and its prestige is reflected in the Dead Arm. Although it is crafted from small bundles of low yield grapevines, this wine packs a punch with its boldness and intensity. Aromas of cedar and dark berries fill your senses followed by blackberries and black olive on the palate. You may enjoy this wine now in its youth or cellar it away for 10-15 years.

2015 d’Arenberg Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon: $59.91
94 points Robert Parker
Cabernet is planted across the world yet there is something that separates Cabernet from Australia compared to those from other wine regions. The Coppermine Road is forged from a near extinct grape clone and rarely yields high allocations. This limited allotment of grapes and the patience it takes to look over such a precious investment is what truly makes this wine special. On the nose, mint and red berries attack the glass and invite you in. Though bold and tannic initially, the wine gives way to fresh fruit and balanced acidity on the finish.

2016 d’Arenberg Footbolt Shiraz: $19.99
Although the most affordable selection from our picks, this wine has remained my personal favorite. Named after the prized racehorse that the Osborn family sold to purchase to d’Arenberg property, this wine offers complexity and elegance at a reasonable price. The characteristics of this slightly warmer 2016 vintage are on full display through its plum and licorice fragrances. Following is an earthy undertone taste of dates and dark cherry.
