Terraces

Hello to all who Imbibe!

Throughout our years in business we have had the pleasure of meeting numerous amounts of amazing people that work in the wine industry. Of the many names and faces, one winery has always held a special place in our hearts. Terraces Winery was founded in 1993 by Timm and Sharon Crull and has gone on to be one of the most expressive and vibrant wineries in all of Napa Valley. We have highlighted four of their wines that have truly captivated our staff here at Imbibe and we are excited to bring them to you.

Terraces 2018 Falanghina – $31.99
We are extremely excited to have this wine back in stock here at Imbibe. Falanghina is a grape that is native to Southern Italy where long hot days are all too common, like us here in the central valley. Although this grape varietal is not commonly grown here in America, The Clarksburg AVA is an ideal growing area for this fun and vibrant style. The 2018 vintage shows pale yellow in color with hints of lime zest and mango on the nose. On the palate this wine really shows its strengths, with a sharp acidic bite that flows into flavors of green apple and grapefruit. This is the perfect wine for fans of Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc who are wanting to try and expand their wine palates without having to break the bank.

Terraces 2017 Zinfandel: $40.99
Zinfandel and California are synonymous with each other. Although Cabernet has a strong grasp on the wine market these days, Zinfandel helped pave the way to make California a serious player in the world wine industry. Terraces highlights just how well Zinfandel can be with their 2017 vintage, it shows a vibrant purple color with tones of blackberry, cinnamon, and vanilla on the nose. Black plums, white pepper, and espresso fill the palate with soft tannins from start to finish. Of all the Zinfandels I offer here in shop this is easily the best one around.

Terraces 2018 Chardonnay: $32.99
This is one of the more recent offerings we have brought in from Terraces and left quite an impression amongst those who have tried it. Using grapes grown in the Oak Knoll district from the Southern end of Napa Valley, the 2018 vintage reaped the benefits of an undisturbed and bountiful harvest. These prime growing conditions reflect in the wine, with notes of white peach and lemon peel on the nose. As you indulge the palate offers bright acidity with flavors of apricot and light toasty oak. This is a serious chardonnay for the money, you will not want to miss out on this one.

2017 Terraces Petite Sirah: $39.99
To wrap up the email I wanted to introduce you guys to my favorite offering from Terraces. Petite Sirah does not often get the recognition it should mainly because it gets confused with just normal Syrah. Although they share names, the two could not be more different from each other as Petite Syrah is bolder and slightly more tannic. The factors that set Petite Sirah apart from other varietals and make it so delicious are represented beautifully in the 2017 vintage. Deep purple in color with intense aromas of black cherry and ground coffee. On the palate blackberry and dark chocolate fill your sense from start to finish. This is the perfect wine to accompany you with a nice ribeye or lamb chops and shows quite well on its own.
