Robert’s Bang-for-Your-Buck 6 Pack

Hello to all who Imbibe!

My Bang-for-the-Buck bargain wine bag needs to go home with you. These six wines are my go to picks for everyday drinkers. Many factors played into the following selections, but the main one is bang for the buck. These wines over deliver for the money as well as pair perfectly with end of Summer sipping. I hope you enjoy these wines as much as I do.
Cheers!
Robert

Terraces 2018 Chenin Blanc: $19.99
Clean and bright with a pale-yellow hue and delicate aromas of white blossom, white peach, green pear & hints of wet stone minerality. The palate is exceptionally balanced with bright acidity and a medium body. Bright tangerine, ripe pineapple and inviting honeysuckle to linger on the long finish. Truly the perfect Summer wine.

Michele Chiarlo 2017 Barbera D’ Asti ‘Le Orme’, Italy: $15.99
I call this the perfect Bakersfield Summertime red. Not too light, not too heavy but holds it own. Fresh, Juicy and medium bodied. Drinks great on its own and pairs well with burgers, pizza, tacos, ribs, cheese and charcuterie.
“This juicy red opens with aromas of ripe dark-skinned berry, star anise and a whiff of forest floor. Rounded, chewy and fresh, the savory palate doles out mature Marasca cherry, cranberry, licorice and a hint of truffle alongside smooth tannins. “Wine Enthusiast 90 Points

Highway 12 Cabernet Sauvignon 2017: $15.99
“The 2017 release showcases when depth, strength and elegance meet. Blended with 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot, the wine was aged in French oak and showcases cedar overtones supported by the round mid-palate body and tingly tannins on the edge of the finish. Entry exhibits soft earth tones on the nose with hints of cherry, blueberry and a vanilla-oak softness. Medium to full-bodied the wine reveals wonderful fruit ripeness supported by richness and a slightly chewy core. Perfect for a summer mixed grill!”

Haut Rian Blanc 2019, Bordeaux: $11.99
“This delightful dry white wine is meant to be drunk young, cool and fresh. It delivers striking scents of lime and lemon rind, whiffs of honeydew and even a hint of seashells. And no taste of oak to be found, just ‘pure play’ dry white. If there is a better dry white wine for the (little) money, I have not tasted it. I have tasted a good many dry whites at twice this price that are not even half as good. This wine could easily become your ‘house white’- it’s
that good.”

Can Blau 2017 Montsant, Spain: $15.99
“Wood smoke, spice box, incense, lavender, black cherry and plum aromas are followed by a mouth-filling, round, dense wine with outstanding grip and length. Its over-delivers in a big way. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.”

Chateau Pegau 2016 Cote du Rhone ‘Maclura’, France: $19.99
“A pleasant whiff of barnyard lends savory tones of earth and animal to crisp blackberry and plum flavors. It is an opulent, slightly warming wine with a plummy, voluminous mouthfeel that is vibrantly balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is moderately long, lingering on hints of sun-dried thyme, lavender and grippy tannins. Enjoy now–2025.”
