Halli’s Budget-Friendly “Breakfast” Wines

Hello to all who Imbibe!

There’s no shame in enjoying a glass of wine in the early weekend morns, especially in 2020. I’ve picked out my favorite, people-pleasing budget bottles that I like to call my “breakfast wines”. They are perfect palate cleansers after eating a plate of greasy bacon and fluffy waffles, and light and crisp enough to continue drinking when your belly is full of breakfast food. Grab a 6er of my pre-selected breakfast wines for only $80, regularly priced $90+. You have a 3 day weekend coming up and you’re going to need a few good breakfast wines in the house…

Pico Maccario Lavignone Rosato, Italy: Reg. price $16.99
This is my favorite Rose in the store. The nose and palate are met by playful aromas of wild strawberry, watermelon, cranberry, fresh-cut grass, and river stone. A refreshing, but modest backbone of acidity supports a round mouth-feel and velvety texture.

Campo Viejo Sparkling Cava Rose, Spain: Reg. price $10.99
One of my go-to breakfast sparklers. This Cava is so great because it’s delicious and incredibly versatile. It offers an inviting nose of ripe red berries with a palate of red fruit, rose petals, and crisp acidity.

Raeburn Rose, Russian River Valley: Reg. price $14.99
Who doesn’t love a highly rated Rose under $15?
90 points Wine Enthusiast – “Light and nearly clear in color, this wine offers a sweet nose of peach and candied cherry and is appealing from the start. The crisp dry palette balances the nose, finding an appealing minerality and elements of dried herb that contrast well against the fruit.”

Gazela Vinho Verde, Portugal: Reg. price $7.99
This Vinho Verde has a slight fizz that enhances its bouquet. Aromatic and engaging, Gazela adds to its citrus and tropical fruit notes with lively acidity. The end product is a simple, versatile wine.

Grandial Sparkling, France: Reg. price $9.99
Elegant sparkling wine with fine bubbles and fresh palate. A wonderfully light sparkling wine produced from 100% Ugni Blanc that is surprisingly clean, refreshing and bone dry.

Luli Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands: Reg. price $21.99
This is hands down my favorite ‘house’ Pinot. It’s a wine that every wine enthusiast enjoys, making it an easy and inexpensive choice for what ever occasion comes your way. This Pinot is loaded with aromas of Bing cherry, strawberry cream, and baked plum. The morning fog and coastal breezes that pour into the Santa Lucia Highlands envelop the palate in the form of rose petal, blackberry crumble, red currant, and sage undertones.
