Beau's Essential Six Mon, Sep 12, 22 Beau’s Essential Six Hello to all who Imbibe! I am incredibly blessed to work in a wine shop with endless choices, however picking out the right wines can often be a struggle. I have put together what I believe are six of our strongest wines in house. In my mixed six pack you will receive a $160 value for only $128.31! 2017 Michele Chiarlo Barber d’Asti Le Orme: $19.99 valueBarbera d ’Asti may just be the best summertime red wine for the hot Bakersfield days. This wine is medium bodied, bright red in color, and full of excitement. The 2016 vintage is the result of new clones and rootstock, and the hard work is represented in the quality of this wine. On the nose, you get hues of cherry and currants, as you take in the wine dark berry dominates the palate from beginning to end which makes for a beautiful savory finish. 2018 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon: $50 valueNapa Valley has long been the best producer of Cabernet in California and this is highlighted by Turnbull’s latest vintage. Winemaker Peter Heitz crafts this wine using grapes from three different vineyards across Napa to show the integrity of the valley. The end result is a lush red color with hues of strawberries and blackberries. Red fruits flood the palate with notes of tobacco and spice on the finish. This is a serious wine for the money, you will have to pay double in Napa to get something this good. 2018 Chateau Haut-La Pereyre: $19.99 valueI am a huge white blend fan, especially during the summer, and this one in particular shines brighter than any of the other whites I have in stock. Bone-dry with crisp notes of grapefruit and lemongrass that allows for a vividly clean finish. Comprised of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and Semillion, this wine is the perfect companion pool side or with a light meal. 2018 Sans Liege The Offering: $30 value92 points Wine SpectatorWhen you think about Santa Barbara county beautiful beaches and blissful weather come to mind. However, some of the hottest and best value wine in the whole nation is being produced there and we have just come across an absolute gem that has gained some immense praise. Up front the wine shows tones of fresh strawberry and herbs, once on the palate dark red fruits and spice prevail over a long finish. 2019 Daou Rosé: $19.99 valueRosé and the Summertime go hand in hand with each other. Our good friends over at Daou Winery in Paos Robles may just have the best rosé to come across our shelves this summer. Replicating the Provencal style of Southern France this wine is refreshingly crisp with aromas of watermelon and hibiscus on the nose followed by a strong strawberry presence on the palate. 2016 Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Villages: $19.99 valueTo round off the six pack I thought I would throw you guys something fun, light, and interesting to try. Beaujolais has not quite caught recognition here in the States and its time to start changing that. Light in body, with a stunning cherry red color with a bouquet of violet and red fruit on the nose. On the palate red fruit combines with freshness which ends with a remarkably easy drinking finish. This is the perfect wine for your next barbecue or to open up and enjoy with friends, socially distant of course.
