2008 Valley of the Moon Pinot Blanc $13.99

This Sonoma Valley producer has been around a long time and so has Pinot Blanc. However, many consumers are blinded by overdone Chardonnay and don’t recognize this grape variety for what it is and what it can give with regard to flavor and food accompaniment. The wine presents fresh, ripe/tart pineapple flavors mixed with a touch of citrus and just a hint of oak. It pairs extremely well with delicate chicken or seafood dishes that focus on fruit salsas and pasta with a light cream sauce. ~Deanna
