Ellie Fergon

I was born in the California Desert, and was raised in Los Angeles, Washington State and Lake Isabella. Starting at a young age, I planned out my career to be a chef. Throughout the years my focus changed numerous times, but I always knew I would somehow be involved with food. After high school I studied at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and graduated with a Food Service Management Degree. I had decided at that point to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and continue in a four-year Pastry Arts program. In between traveling and relaxing after graduation, love came into my life and completely changed my plans. I met my husband in Bakersfield, CA through mutual friends and decided to stay on the west coast and attend the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley. I joined with 16 other students to complete an Accelerated Culinary Arts Program, including world cuisine, pastry and food and wine pairing. I have been happily married for 2 years living in Bakersfield for the past 3. I started my Bakersfield career working as Manager of the Café Med Gourmet Shop and Deli. I’m thrilled to now be a part of the Imbibe staff, excited to learn more about the world of wine and how it pairs with food.
