My relationship with wine began in the mid 70Ős when I first visited the Napa Valley on the back of a Harley Sportster. The romance became a life long friendship, but the relationship with wine became a hobby, a passion and my 20+ year career.
In 1988 I began selling wine in the central San Joaquin Valley of California as a representative for a Northern California wholesaler/distributor/importer. In 1992 I moved on to retail as the wine manager for a large, local, independent store in Fresno, California.
Deciding to spread our wings to focus on wine education & wine appreciation, a friend and I opened a retail wine shop and tasting bar in Fresno: Bailey-Cannon Wine Merchants. After a successful 10 year run, the business closed in 2005 and I moved on to become the Retail & Hospitality Manager at a new winery venture in Madera, California.
Most recently I returned to retail where I absolutely love introducing people to wine!
Relocating to Bakersfield for my new position as an Imbibe wine team member allows me the opportunity to meet new people in a new city in a new atmosphere with a constantly evolving new selection of wines.
So my motorcycle adventures may be in the past, but there's always another adventure up ahead on the wine road. I look forward to helping you start your journey at Imbibe!
